Anderson Family

One of the greatest gifts we have as photographers is the opportunity to capture special moments for those around us... one of the greatest gifts we have as individuals is when those around us are some of our greatest friends. -- I met both Anna and Larry in middle school. Since then, a lot has changed in our lives (thank goodness!), but one thing that has remained constant is our friendship.

I can say, without a doubt, that I am uniquely blessed to have a special group of close friends that I have known since our time in our middle school youth group ... Anna is one of those friends. This circle is small, but definitely diverse ... one is about to move from the east coast to the west, while another works in a snazzy corner office in a high rise building downtown. One has finished her nursing degree and helps patients on a daily basis, while another continues to be a musical genius helping young students reach their potential. Each one of these ladies is different, but all are extraordinary. No matter where we live and what we do, we have been blessed to come back together to celebrate the special moments in our lives... and perhaps nothing more special than the birth of a child.

Anna's firstborn is Ethan - basically, one of the greatest kids you could ever meet! When Ethan was born, I was living in Virginia; so when I found out that Anna was expecting her second little one a year ago, right after moving back to Memphis, I was thrilled! Emma Rice Anderson was born August 12, 2009, and yes, she is perfect!

Justin and I went over to the little household of four to take some family photos for Anna and Larry a few months ago. They are an amazing little group, and Anna and Larry are exceptional parents. It's so fun to have watched them grow from a couple to parents, to a party of four! In honor of little Emma's baby dedication at Bellevue last night, we thought we would put up a post for this special family.

Sleeping beauty.

Anna is beautiful... period.

So precious!

One of the many reason I love Ethan!
Anna made this tutu! I, on the other hand, can sew on a button.

My favorite!

We love you Andersons, and are so glad to have you as friends!

  1. Oh,what a precious family. I'm so thankful to have the internet, so this soon-to-be-West Coast girl can keep up with everyone. But I'm more thankful to be a part of this group of wonderful friends. Y'all have truly been a formative part of my life and I'm so lucky these friendships have lasted from our youth, now into young adulthood, and I know they will be my rock until we're old and gray. Thanks for sharing, Ash and Justin!
